Even after the best car wash money can buy, your paint is still loaded with surface contaminants that car wash and polishing wont remove.  The only way to remove these is by using a clay bar.  A clay bar is essentially an elastic material (rather than actual clay), that has a light, medium, or heavy abrasive material in it that when used properly removes all of the surface contaminants.  Use this before polishing or waxing your vehicle, and your results will really show the difference.  Our medium and heavy duty clay bars are 207g, our all purpose is 140g.

Clay bars come in three levels of aggressiveness – all-purpose, medium, and heavy duty.  The more aggressive the clay, the more surface contaminants it will remove.  However, the more aggressive the clay, the higher your chances of leaving fine scratches on the paint are.  Generally, you would use aggressive clay if you are claying a vehicle that has never been clayed before and needs a lot of work, expecting to polish it afterward to remove all of the regular fine scratches it already had.  For a car that is well maintained, a very light clay bar is all you will need to keep it looking perfect and will not scratch.

Instructions for use are pretty basic.  Wash your car first to maximize results.  Spray our Carnauba or Synthetic Quick Detailer generously over the surface of a 2’ square area.  The Quick Detailer acts as a lubricant that allows the clay bar to remove surface contaminants and not harm your clear coat.  As gently as possible with little to no pressure, simply glide the clay bar over the surface of the lubricated paint.  One or two passes is all it needs unless there’s a nasty spot of grime (In which case, don’t add pressure, just keep gliding the clay).  Start from the top of the vehicle and work your way down as the lower parts of your car are generally the dirtiest.  Wipe the paint clean with a dry and clean microfiber towel.  Your surface will be noticeably smoother and slick to the touch.  If you notice any fine scratches, you didn’t use enough lube, or are using a very aggressive clay bar.  Always re-fold the clay after each 2’ square section to ensure that contaminants picked up won’t come in contact with your paint again.  Despite these detailed instructions, claying your vehicle is extremely easy and will provide results you never before thought were possible.
